History

Henderson started as an industrial “we-need-this-now” town during WWII, cranking out magnesium for the war effort.
After the war, it almost got abandoned—yep, left on the curb like an old sofa—until Nevada stepped in and said,
“Relax, we’ll keep you.” Since then, Henderson has reinvented itself into one of the safest, cleanest, and
fastest-growing cities in the country. Not bad for a city that nearly got ghosted by history. *chuckles*

Things to Do

Whether you like hiking until your legs question their life choices or prefer sipping a latte while pretending you
might hike someday, Henderson has you covered. You’ve got the Black Mountain trails, water fun at Lake Las Vegas,
concerts at the Dollar Loan Center, community events, golf courses everywhere, and parks that seem to multiply when
you’re not looking. Basically, boredom has to take a number and wait its turn.

Local Restaurants

From Green Valley to Water Street, Henderson’s food scene is sneaky-good. You get locally loved spots like Juan’s
Flaming Fajitas, Ombra, Settebello, Todd’s Unique Dining, and tons of boutique cafés that make you forget Las Vegas
even exists. And if you’re feeling fancy? Lake Las Vegas restaurants will happily take your money—at least the views
are worth it.

What It’s Like Living Here

Living in Henderson feels like choosing the “Yes, I’d like peace and quiet…but keep the fun nearby” package. It’s
safe, clean, community-driven, and full of neighborhoods where people actually wave at each other instead of
pretending they don’t see you. Schools are solid, amenities are everywhere, and the city is organized—almost
suspiciously so. It’s suburban comfort with Vegas convenience. And once people move here? Well, good luck convincing
them to leave.
